Oxford Peak Place, Castle Pines Village, CO

"Stacy helped us pull our ideas together. By building off our home's architecture and our style, she made recommendations that enhanced the beauty of our home. We're very happy with the results."
~ The Peters Family

A large traditional home nestled in the pines of the exclusive gated community of Castle Pines Village. The brief was to take the house beyond traditional and imbue it with a modern Arts and Crafts flair.

The Client

A hardworking couple who make the perfect team in balancing the demands of work and family. Mr. Peters is a gifted Engineer and Mrs. Peters is a compassionate and loving mother who not only takes care of the demands of raising a family but also finds the time to volunteer at the local Dumb Friends League.

Project Inspiration

The clean lines and simplicity of modern Arts and Crafts style. My clients love of photography was also a big inspiration and we incorporated their beautiful images throughout the house.

What We Did

Working with the traditional mountain architecture of the home, we painted the main living spaces in warmer colors to give the home the Arts and Crafts feeling the clients desired. We also painted the white fireplace surround in a rich deep bronze/chocolate to warm up the hearth and better match the newly painted walls. In order to maintain the balance of the Arts and Crafts look, I designed and incorporated straight lined, simple window treatments for the dining room and the kitchen (not pictured). Finally, we jazzed up the kitchen by custom painting the kitchen island with an antiqued and aged black process. To finish it off, we switched the chandelier over the kitchen table with a textured and warmer toned light fitting.

What We Love

  • The color used to complement the Arts and Crafts feels throughout the home, espcially in the Dining Room to compliment the custom artwork
  • The custom painted kitchen island in a distressed black
  • The hand drawn and custom made kitchen window treatment produced in Chicago by Stacy Ewing (not pictured)
